Our Story

Wilson & Cofield was established in 1965 as an electrical contractor serving North Carolina with a focus on community and excellent quality. In 1982, Dennis Woodcock, a long-time employee of Wilson & Cofield, bought the business from its founders. This was around the same time that Mark Woodcock, Jr., Dennis’ son, joined the firm and began his electrical career. Following in his father’s footsteps, Mark Jr. bought the company in the early 2000s and grew the business into a local mainstay as a high-level quality driven commercial contractor that delivers exceptional service. Mr. Woodcock built tremendous relationships with many of the largest local general contractors and is well known in the community as reliable and extremely knowledgeable.

Brian Young and Cary Nordan are continuing the legacy with a focus on quality and community as well as further developing a culture of caring about our clients and partners. Mark Woodcock remains fully engaged as President and Director of Safety for Wilson & Cofield and remains an integral member of the team.

Today, Wilson & Cofield has grown its workforce and resources and expanded its expertise in project management, finance, and estimating to support the execution of projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
